BAMBOO-BLEND SHEET SETS
Bamboo is one of the softest fabrics in the world! It’s softer than cotton but with a drape like silk. It comes from a rapidly renewable resource that doesn’t require pesticides to grow and is completely bio-degradable therefore it is considered a sustainable textile.
Bamboo fabric, which is made from the pulp of the bamboo grass, resembles cotton in its natural form (a puffball of light, airy fibers) To make bamboo fabric, bamboo is heavily pulped until it separates into thin threads which can be spun and dyed for weaving into cloth. These threads are defined as “Rayon from Bamboo.”
Due to the extreme softness of bamboo it does not require a very high thread count. At 320 thread count these sheets are the epitome of luxurious sleeping comfort.
Bamboo fiber provides ventilation and has moisture wicking properties making the sheets cool and breathable. Because bamboo is so water absorbent it can take up to three times its weight in water. Wicking properties in bamboo sheets refer to the ability to pull moisture and wetness away from the skin so it can quickly evaporate. This wicking occurs much faster with bamboo than with cotton or a cotton blend.
Bamboo sheets feel cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They do not pill so the silky softness lasts and lasts. Bamboo is also naturally antibacterial even after many washes. This helps to reduce bacteria that thrive on fabrics and cause unpleasant odors.
Bamboo can be worn or placed directly next to the skin. Many people who experience allergic reactions to other natural fibers such as wool or hemp do not complain of this issue with bamboo. The fabric is smooth and round without chemical treatment, meaning that there are no sharp spurs to irritate the skin.
At Quilts Etc our Bamboo sheets consist of 60% Rayon from Bamboo fiber and 40% cotton. We carry the full sheet sets in Twin, Twin Extra-Long, Double, Queen and King. Sheet sets include Flat sheet,
Fitted sheet and two pillow cases (Twin and Twin XL has one pillow case)
It is recommended that bamboo sheets be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and should be placed in the dryer at a low heat setting and removed promptly at cycle end. Overheating will cause excessive shrinkage. Bamboo can be touched up with a medium temperature iron to remove wrinkles if required.
In addition to our exceptional bamboo-blend line we also offer baby bamboo fitted crib sheets and crib size duvet covers.
TENCEL BLEND SHEET SETS
Tencel is a unique new material made from eucalyptus trees. Tencel fabric is an amazing eco-friendly fabric that represents a milestone in the development of environmentally friendly sustainable textiles.
Tencel is certified by the International Forest Stewardship Council and 100% biodegradable in its raw state. It’s anti-bacterial and is the only man-made fiber to be invented in over 30 years.
Blended with cotton Tencel creates a fabric with excellent temperature regulating properties enabling you to sleep comfortably. Silk like and soft to the touch Tencel fibers have excellent wicking abilities which draw moisture away from the body ensuring a restful sleep.
Tencel was created with color in mind because of the fibers high absorbency. The fabrics can be dyed to high quality standards. Tencel is produced from wood by means of a process that respects the environment and uses no pesticides or other potentially harmful chemicals. This means Tencel is pure and soothing next to the skin therefore a significant improvement in the well-being of people with sensitive skin. In contrast, the surface of cotton fiber is typically much rougher, irregular and more irritating to sensitive skin.
At Quilts Etc our Tencel sheets consist of 50% Tencel and 50% cotton, with a 320 thread count.
Sheet sets include Flat sheet, Fitted sheet and two pillowcases (Twin has one pillowcase)
Due to high demand we are quickly expanding the Tencel program.
It is recommended that Tencel sheets be washed in cold water on a normal cycle and placed in the dryer on a low heat and removed promptly at cycle end. If Tencel is placed on high heat in the dryer it will shrink up to 3%. Tencel can be touched up with a medium temperature iron however no bleach is recommended.
PHAROAH COTTON SHEET SETS
Cotton is a soft fluffy fiber that grows in a protective capsule around the seeds of cotton plants. The fiber is almost pure cellulose. Cotton is most often spun into yarn or thread and is used to make a soft, breathable textile. Because of this softness cotton is better for those with sensitive skin. It is the most widely used natural fiber in sheets and clothing today.
Cotton has been spun, woven and dyed since prehistoric times. While a single cotton fiber is not terribly strong, when multiple fibers are straightened and twisted together, they form a strong, smooth thread that can be knitted or woven as well as dyed. These threads are durable and do not stretch or break easily.
Our Pharaoh 320 thread count collection is made using high grade 100% combed cotton for superior comfort and durability. The staple, or fiber
length, is similar to that found in Egyptian or Pima cotton. The longer the fiber the more consistent and smooth the thread resulting in a smooth
more luxurious fabric. The sateen stripe adds additional elegance which easily compliments our designer linen patterns.
Pharaoh sheet sets are available in Twin, Twin XL, Double, Queen and King. Each set includes a Flat sheet, Fitted sheet and two pillowcases (Twin and Twin XL include one pillowcase)
It is recommended that cotton sheets be washed in cold water on a normal cycle and placed in the dryer on a low heat and removed promptly at cycle end. If cotton is placed on high heat in the dryer it will shrink up to 3% which we allow for with oversized cutting allowance. Cotton can be touched up with a medium temperature iron however bleach is not recommended.
ARUBA SATEEN SHEET SETS
Aruba basic sheeting program was developed to suit the Aruba laidback lifestyle that comes to mind when picturing the namesake Caribbean Island. The products offer the best benefits of blending cotton and polyester together such as easy care, wrinkle resistant, great colour fastness, soft and lightweight.
Polyester is basically made of a plastic type fiber. Polyester is much more fade resistant and shrink resistant than cotton. Polyester is virtually indestructible. The only disadvantage to polyester is that this fabric on its own is hotter than cotton and not as breathable.
Aruba sateen sheets are available in Twin, Twin XL, Double, Queen and King. Each set includes a Flat sheet, Fitted sheet and two pillowcases (Twin and Twin XL include one pillowcase)
It is recommended that Aruba sateen sheets be washed in a cold water wash on a gentle cycle and placed in the dryer at a low heat and removed promptly at cycle end. Aruba sateen sheets can be touched up with a medium temperature iron however bleach is not recommended.
